Teacher Appreciation Week ~ February 4-8

Spring Fashion Show and Silent Auction ~ Sunday, February 10

The Walton High School Choral Department will host its fourth annual Spring Fashion Show and Silent Auction on Sunday, February 10, at 3:00pm in the Walton Theatre.   Tickets are $10 each at the door. 

The stores whose clothes will be represented include Bravura, PGA Tour Superstore, Private Gallery, Swim 'n Sport, Hot Ticket, and SAVVI Formalwear.  Some of the sponsors include Super Suppers and Ellen's House of Sweets, and Impulse Hair Salon, which will be providing hair and makeup services for the models.  Entertainment will also be provided by some of the choral students.  Fabulous items donated by local and national merchants will be available to bid on at the Silent Auction table throughout the afternoon.

Jump Rope for Heart ~ February 13th & 15th

Jump_rope_for_heart_2 Who:      Everyone (K-5) is welcome to take part!

Where:   PE Classes

When:    February 13 & 15

Why:     To promote healthy heart activities, encourage community service,  to support the American Heart Association's research and education...and to have fun!

How:     Collect donations and jump rope during PE!

Last year Mt. Bethel students raised $31,000 for the American Heart Association, which ranked us 31st out of 25,000 participating schools in the country! This event is an opportunity to have fun while raising money to fight heart disease.

You can submit your optional donations to the PE teachers on the day of your student's event.  Everyone will jump.

PTA Day at the Capitol ~ February 13th

Ga_capitol Ga_pta Mark your calendar and plan to attend PTA Day at the Capitol on February 13.  You'll be briefed on the hot issues affecting children and youth (and you!) during this legislative session and then will go across the street to see our legislature in action in the Capitol. 

This is the perfect opportunity to meet your legislators, talk to them about what matters to you, and have lunch with them.  Wear red and let your voice for children be seen and heard!  Click here to view from the the GA PTA website.

What Stresses Your Middle Schooler?

Friday, February 22nd, 11:15a.m.-12:15p.m., Dickerson Chorus Room

"3 rules for parents ... love, limit, and let them be." If you're interested in how to be more effective in supporting your middle school student, please join us in a discussion of "What Stresses Your Middle Schooler?" presented by Dr. Spencer Gelernter. Dr. Gelernter is a licensed clinical psychologist and an expert in matters dealing with adolescents and families.

Session begins promptly at 11:15 and is focused toward adults. Please park across Woodlawn in the JFBC lot and enter the school through the door to the left of the main door, by the Chorus Room. Please contact Sharon Hanna at with any questions. See you there!

The March session will be held on Friday, March 14th from 11:15-12:15. The speaker will be Ms. Wendy Williams, Educational Consultant and College Placement Specialist; the topic "Preparing for College: It's Not Too Early!"
