October 2007

Vision and Hearing Screening

Hearing_3The PTA Vision and Hearing screenings for this school year will be held October 8, 9, and 10.   All 1st grade students, 4th grade students, and all students new to Cobb County, excluding kindergarteners, will be screened for vision and hearing.  If your 1st grader, 4th grader, or student who is new to Cobb County wears glasses, please make sure they are wearing them on the above screening dates. Vison_2

This screening is not a substitute for a complete vision and/or hearing examination, but rather a method to suggest further care for those students who may possibly have a problem with  their vision or  hearing.  There will be some students who will be referred for follow-up who may have normal exams later.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Janice Kloess or Anna Jordan.  Email

Study Habits
Time Management

How many of us have watched a disorganized child or adult and assumed that they were just lazy or that if they really and truly wanted to, they would be more organized?”

“How many of us have wanted to pull our hair out over the child who never brings home their assignments and materials despite supervision from the teacher, who never starts the homework without a knockdown-drag out fight, and who when they do finally do their homework, seem to lose it before it gets handed in to the teacher?”

Please register by email with number attending to Deborah Kauffman.

This year’s theme is: Slam Dunk – Drugs Are Junk!
