December Doings!

Chanukah      Stockng

Happy "getting ready for the holidays" to everyone!!!  Hope this is a memory making time for all!

We are very excited about our Immigration Day tomorrow and look forward to seeing many parents there helping our "new immigrants" work their way towards citizenship!  Please be sure to check the final preparation note that was sent home on Friday with all our last reminders.

Our family trees look wonderful in the hall!  If you have a spare hour this week, you will want to stop by to look at them.

Our Studies for the Week

Spelling - test on our immigration words from last week will be Tuesday

Math - Tuesday will be the post test from this 9 week unit and Wednesday is the benchmark test

Language Arts - Immigrant  Diary is due on Wednesday;  finishing our Harris Burdick stories;  continuing work on adverbs.

Reading - completing all immigrant stories;  reading test Tuesday or Wednesday

Social Studies - William McKinley and Teddy Roosevelt

Science - completing our work on matter - experiment on physical vs chemical change

Many Thanks to everyone for your generous support of our Toy Drive, Care and Share, and Random Acts of Kindness.  Many people will have a better holiday thanks to your gifts.

Special thanks to Mrs. Mesnisk and Mrs. Brock for their help during Random Acts - could not have done it without you!!

It will be January before we know it and that means conference week is just around the corner.  If you have any particular days or times that are not good for you, please let me know.  Sibling conferences we try to schedule "back to back"  and that schedule is arranged the day teachers return, Jan.4.  Everything else gets scheduled around those times within a few days so letters can go out.  So please drop me a note before then if you can with special requests.
