March News from the Nurse!
Since the winter break, I have seen a lot of students with complaints of sore throats, usually accompanied by cold symptoms, and complaints of stomachaches. In most cases, these symptoms have been devoid of fever. Please monitor your children at home for complaints of these symptoms and call your family doctor to rule out any possible underlying medical cause.
I have also received reports of a few cases of strep throat. Please keep me informed of any confirmed diagnoses of strep so I can inform those people necessary to ensure the well-being of the student/teacher population.
Since my supplies for the clinic are dwindling as the year progresses, I would gladly welcome donations of any of the following:
· Saltine crackers
· Cans of ginger ale
· Small bottles of Gatorade
· 5 oz. paper cups
· 3 oz. paper cups
· Paper towels
· Band-Aids
· Ziploc sandwich bags
Finally, please remember to return all borrowed clothing in a timely manner as our supply is limited.
As always, I'm here for your children's health needs and my clinic door is always open during school hours.
