Schools around the world are celebrating Walk to School during the month of October. Join your friends and walk or ride to school on October 7, 2009. Talk to your neighbors and friends! Make a plan to walk together as a group or come as a family.

100 Georgia PTA Reflections 2008-2009 state winners for Visual Art and Photography is currently on exhibit at the High Museum Educational Center.  Take your family and/or students and spend a remarkable day at the High!

This year's Reflections theme is "Beauty is…"  Stay tuned to see what Mt. Bethel students came up with to express their opinion of beauty!

The Mt. Bethel Elementary School Foundation is charging the 10 billion neurons in your child's noggin and we need your help! Your youngest child will receive an information packet on the educational enrichment opportunities provided by the MBESF, as well as a personalized donor card in his/her backpack.

As we celebrate National Fruits and Vegetables Month, Friday September 25th is Family Day at Mt. Bethel. This is a fun event where we invite parents to join their child and enjoy lunch in the Mt. Bethel cafeteria. Check out the great adult salad options our cafeteria team has made available for you, and enjoy time with your child!

Mt. Bethel students in grades K-5 are welcomed to join the Healthy Kids Club!  We meet after-school once a month to learn about fitness, nutrition and wellness.

One FINAL training session will be offered on Friday, September 25th at 9:30am in the Mt. Bethel Cafeteria!  

Do you like to help in your child's classroom?  Do you have 1 1/2 hours free periodically to volunteer as a parent substitute?

Our Parent Volunteer Substitute program enables Mt. Bethel teachers an opportunity get together and plan as grade level teams.  Teachers use this planning time to review grade level standards and assess student data in order to better meet the need of our students!

There is no need to let us know you're coming, just sign in when you arrive for training!

ALL parents who wish to participate in the Trained Parent Volunteer Program for the 2009-2010 school year MUST attend training!

The MTB-TV Morning News Show is looking for anchors, reporters, camera crews and directors.

Beginning Monday, September 28th,  plans are to begin broadcasting a live TV morning news program. This broadcast will be staffed and produced by Mt. Bethel 4^th and 5^th grade students.

Interested students will find information sheets to answer their questions on how these teams will be formed and chosen at the Mt. Bethel Media Center Blog.

Applications for these positions must be submitted by Friday, September 18^th to our media specialist, Mrs. Provano. Boxes will be available in the media center to receive your completed applications.

Odyssey of The Mind is returning again to Mt. Bethel! The Odyssey of the Mind provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students of all ages. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local and state level.

An informational meeting will be held in Ms. Marks room after school on Friday, September 25th.  Email Bob Cahill for more information.
