Welcome

The Mt. Bethel Library Media Center is open from 7:15 to 2:45 Monday through Friday. Students are encouraged to visit before school and with their classes for checkout, research, and group story time.

The Library Media Center maintains a flexible schedule which allows use by several groups of students, parents, and faculty members at any given time during the day. The schedule for classes is available in the Library office for teachers to view and sign up for book exchange, story time and learning, as well as information literacy skills instruction.

Please take a look at Cobb Virtual Library.  Your child's teacher should be giving you the username and password to access this wonderful resource of research databases from home.   A link to the left is provided to this resource from our website.

Cobb's Library and Media Education program provides both information resources and instruction that support the school curriculum.  The library media specialist collaborates with teachers to design, teach, and assess learning experiences which address the curriculum standards that involve information literacy (those that require students to seek out information beyond the text and employ higher-level thinking).

Great Readers See Themselves as Readers

This year the library media program at Mt. Bethel will be promoting and helping students see themselves as readers.  We'll focus on four areas that ensure students develop this habit.

  1. Taking Care of Books

  2. Choosing Books

  3. Knowing Yourself as a Reader

  4. Building Reading Stamina
