Third Graders Design Own Cultures

Third grade Target students have been designing their own cultures...an outstanding activity in creativity.  We will present these to our classmates at the end of the year...in just a few short weeks!

First Graders Ham It Up!

Sharing a light-hearted moment is a good break from studying about rainbows, light, color and gemstones!  These students are really "Stepping Into Target!"

First Graders Share A Unique Egg

Sometimes things are not what they seem to be...a fact these first graders can attest to!
From The Special Egg

5th Graders Writing Blazonry and Solving Squzzles

Fifth grade Target students move easily from writing their Blazonry to solving Squzzles (i.e. Square Puzzles!) Their enthusiastic faces tell the whole story! (Can you believe they are almost MIDDLE SCHOOLERS??!!)

Fourth Graders Design Coat of Arms

In preparation for our Robin Hood Day festivities, fourth grade students recently designed individual Coat of Arms featuring beautiful symbols of medieval times.  Pictured above, the students are hard at work!

5th Grade Treated to a Real Falconry Show!

Recently our entire 5th grade Target classes were treated to a real Falconry show demonstrated by an expert, Mr. Bill Mixon.  John and his dad contacted Mr. Mixon after John developed an interest in the topic when researching for his Robin Hood Day project.  Mr. Mixon brought Duke the hawk to Mt. Bethel to demonstrate the ancient art of Falconry.  We were all amazed!  Check out some shots of our day!  (Mrs. Malone even got to "hold" Duke using the official equipment!)

Sometimes It's Just FUN to Be a First Grader!

Sometime it's just plain fun to be a first grader!  For example, a first grader can make funny faces--and everyone thinks, " What a cute kid!"  Check out the pictures showing Garrett's Mystery Box--and all the smiles it created!

5th Graders Complete Blazonry, Coat of Arms, and Logic Puzzles

These last few weeks in Target have been very busy ones for fifth graders.  Catch them writing their Blazonry, designing their Coat of Arms, and doing logic puzzles.  Whatever they do, they do it with a smile!

1st Graders Work on Their Map Projects

Giant map projects are one way the first grade students use to show their research, It also reinforces their study of the continents in conection with our Stepping Into Target Unit.

3rd Grade Students Learn More About Iraq

Third grade Target students were thrilled to hear Mr. Ashley, a veteran, give a personal view of Iraq. This was especially interesting given our current study of Archaeology, including the Cradle of Civilization, Mesopotamia. The students loved asked Mr. Ashley questions--and he loved answering them!
