School Begins!!
For The Bugle- August 2006
Dear Mt. Bethel Families,
We are off to a fantastic beginning at Mt. Bethel! Excited boys and girls arrived this week and settled into classroom procedures and routines and are already busy learning! It is thrilling for me to see the changes that have occurred with the students over the summer. Many of them have grown both physically and socially.
Just a few reminders:
- It is extremely important for your child to arrive at school on time. He/she needs to be in their classroom no later that 7:45 a.m. Getting off to a good start in the morning prepares them for success during the day.
- If you must drive your child to school in the morning, please adhere to the safety guidelines in place in the carpool line.
- I encourage you to allow your child to ride the bus if possible. Riding the bus ensures they will arrive at school on time.
- If your child misses school, please send a note in when he/she returns. Please include your child’s name, teacher’s name, and the reason for the absence.
- You are always welcome to join your child for lunch. However, please do not bring in food from restaurants. If you pack your child’s lunch, please do not include glass containers or carbonated drinks.
- Please notify your child’s teacher in writing if your child is going home a different way that normal. Also remember that anyone picking your child up from school must be listed on the registration card or have a signed note from you giving them permission. They must be prepared to show their identification.
- Please do not email a change in plans for your child to any staff members. While staff members check their email often, we cannot guarantee the email could be checked in time for dismissal.
- If you have questions or concerns about your child’s classroom, you should contact the teacher first. The administrative team is available to you anytime, however concerns should be shared with the teacher first.
- If you need to meet with an administrator, please schedule a time for us to meet. We devote much of our school day to classroom visits and other school needs. By scheduling an appointment, you are assured that one of us will be available.
- Please do not bring animals into the building. We have children and staff members that are allergic to animals.
- Please be sure to sign in at the front office when you are here to visit or volunteer.
- We strive to promote independence in our students. Please allow your child to walk to his/her class independently.
Your child is in a wonderful place! Thank you for your support and cooperation as we continue to provide your children with a quality education!
For kids,
Robin
