THANK YOU FOR A GREAT YEAR!!

As I look back on another great year, I think about all of the great DRAMA lessons your children have been exposed to.  We have a wonderful SMARTBOARD to help us learn the basics of the theatre in our own classroom setting.  From the SMARTBOARD to the stage in my classroom, Mt. Bethel actors have learned a large amount about stage directions, our 5 senses, basic script writing, have been featured on the Cobb County School's Website, puppets, drama games, learned poems and learned their lines for their own written commercials.  Man have we been busy!!!!  Mt. Bethel is an awesome place to be!  I am so fortunate to be your Drama Director.  Thanks for all of the end-of-the-year gifts.  It is very thoughtful of you to think of me.  I am so excited about a month long of Summer Drama Camp and 2 of the scheduled weeks at Mt. Bethel!!!!  See many of you soon!!  Thanks to the MBESF for your support and for believing in my efforts!!  GO BUCCANEERS!!  Happy Summer to all!!

The End is Near!

I can't believe we only have one month of school left!!   I am so proud of the accomplishments of the Mt. Bethel students this year!  We have had so much fun in the classroom and learning about the art of theatre!

Willy Wonka Tickets On Sale THIS WEEK!

There was a type-o in the Bugle about when tickets will go on sale.  They will actually go on sale to the Mt. Bethel Students on March 3rd!!  Tickets will be on sale across from the media center from 7:15 until 7:40.  Tickets are $8.  Tickets will go quickly so act fast!  Thanks for your support!

What's up?

If you are wondering what's up in the Drama Classroom here are a few things...

Every grade level has started a unit in Drama Games.  We have been building machines, family tableaus(living pictures), working on our memorization skills, and finding out "What Are You Doing"!!  Ask your children what games we have been mastering and maybe play them at home on a rainy/snowy day!! :) We are also learning what it takes to have a successful drama class and what do we need to do to be a positive member of an ENSEMBLE.  Great behavior and cooperation is the key to success during our time together.  If you haven't visited the Drama Classroom this year, please click to the right and find our gallery of what our room looks like.  It has changed since last year.  I am very proud of the space we are provided to explore our creativity.  Thanks to you for your continued support.  If you have not taken the time to view the new video on the Cobb County Main Website, please do so.  You will find it under the Media Features, titled Mt. Dickerson's Musical Just Around the Corner!

Many of my former students are featured in this production!!  Here are the details you need to know!

This year's musical production at Dickerson Middle School is "Honk!," an
adorable story based on the tale of the Ugly Duckling.  The cast and crew of
100 DMS students have been hard at work since August and it promises to be a
great show with lots of comedy, catchy music and fabulous dancing.

Tickets are still available, but going fast.  You can enjoy a performance
from Wednesday, January 30th through Saturday, February 2nd at 7pm ­ the
Sunday matinee is already sold out.  Tickets are $10.  To arrange purchasing

NEWS FLASH!!!!

Please go to www.cobbk12.org to see an interview I did with CobbEdTV! It features some actors from Mt. Bethel and also words from our fearless leader Robin Lattizori. The video shows action from the classroom with us using our new SMARTBOARDS and also clips from the 2nd and 3rd grade production, On The Radio!! Mt. Bethel is a great place to be. With all of the new technology we have, the kids are learning a lot and also showing us the have learned new concepts!

It's always good when we get good press coverage!!

Happy Holidays!!

I hope that every one has a wonderful break.  Please take the time to rest, relax, and regroup and be ready for a great 2008!!  I would like to thank each student that brought me a holiday gift.  With teaching over 900 kids, this is my best way to get every one a THANK YOU NOTE!! :)  It amazes me all the time how awesome and caring the children are at Mt. Bethel.  I appreciate your kindness and your thoughtfulness.  It is a pleasure working as your Drama Director.  I love what I do and I enjoy being around such energy each time I arrive at work.  6 years ago this month is when I began subbing at Mt. Bethel.  I can't believe it's been that long.  It seems like yesterday!!  As they say...time flies when your havin' fun!!  THANKS AGAIN for all of the goodies, books, gift cards, candles, picture frames, and most of all...for your hard work in Drama Class.  See you all in 2008!
