Foundation Grant

Rigby Readers Guided Reading Pack and Add-on Levels

Rigby_2 We are so excited to announce that our grant we wrote to the Foundation has been funded!!  We asked for a complete set of Rigby Readers Guided Reading books and Add-On Level books for our higher readers.  Rigby Readers are a series of leveled texts using real story lines to systematically build high frequency words to develop reading skills. The Rigby books use a student-centered approach to target students on their independent reading levels. Thanks to the Mt. Bethel Foundation for fostering continuing reading success!!!

HOMEWORK

Boy_math_md_clr Homework started this week.  Each night your child will have a short 10 minute activity to complete at home and return to school the next day.  Please look for this activity in your child's take home folder.  This homework is in addition to the nightly 15 minutes of reading their bag of books that your child should be doing and recording on his or her reading log.

As we continue with homework throughout the year, you might find challenges for your child to complete along with our regular homework.  These will be optional, but each time your child returns the challenge packs, he or she may get another pack...more information to come.

Homework Schedule  (starting this week)

Monday:  Reading Comprehension and/or Fluency Activity

Tuesday:  Working with Words-Word Work

Wednesday:  Math Activity

Thursday:  Read Poetry Folder to Family and Friends-students have worked really hard on these and are SO excited to share them with you and read them too you!

Friday:  Enjoy Relaxing Time with Family

Please look for students homework to be coming home NIGHTLY! This homework and their bag of books needs to be returned DAILY! Bag of books need to be returned on Fridays especially so that I can collect them and have time to get new books for the following week! Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you for your continued support!
