Message from PTA

Healthy Celebrations

The Mt. Bethel PTA’s Healthy Habits committee would like to share some fun and creative ideas for classroom snacks and parties. Included are just a few ideas to get the year started.

Birthdays are a special time for your child and their classmates. There are many ways to celebrate including bringing in a treat, reading a book or donating something special for the classroom.

Fruit & Snacks

Check out your local grocery store for fresh fruit. Many varieties can be purchased already cut and ready to serve!  The snacks and frozen treats from the Mt.Bethel a la carte menu may also be purchased to bring to the classroom.

Here are just a few treat ideas:

Chocolate covered frozen bananas on a stick

Cut fruit with yogurt dip

Fruit kabobs

Something Special for the Class

Would your child like to mark the day with a favorite book?

You could bring in a book, board game, playground equipment or anything that can be shared among the kids.

Ask your child’s teacher for some ideas to make it a special day!

There are many websites that offer great ideas for healthy and fun treats and games. A good place to start is FamilyFun.com. If you have a great idea, please share it with the Healthy Habits committee!
